| Description: | The Equipment/Shop Manager reports to the Director of Golf Course Operations and/or the Assistant Director of Golf Course Operations and oversees the maintenance of all golf course equipment. This is a "working" Equipment/Shop Manager position where the individual will not only direct (3) mechanics, but required to perform key tasks along-side them when required. Firestone Country Club is a 63 hole facility where the three private 18 hole courses work out of one maintenance building and the 9 hole public course out of its own building. This includes the diagnosis and repair of equipment, preventive maintenance, record keeping of parts/labor and placing orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment or service. The Equipment/ Shop Manager places safety as a top priority and is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized service area and maintenance building(s). Major Duties and Responsibilities . Develops and performs preventive maintenance programs on all golf course equipment stressing safe and proper functions. . Communication the needs of maintenance and repair of all equipment to Director of Golf Course Operations. . Overhaul and able to repair diesel and gas engines, transmissions, hydraulics and electrical. . Operate shop equipment such as equipment lifts, grinding tools, air compression tools and welding . Understand technical literature regarding equipment maintenance and repair. . Accountable for repair and sharpening of all reel and rotary equipment. . Must be able to manage and handle oils, grease and other chemical compounds within the shop area. . Responsible for ordering/receiving parts, tracking inventory, maintaining equipment repair records but use of computer software programs and staying within budget . Oversee and track delivery of fuel purchases. . Maintain a safe, organized and clean shop work areas and equipment storage. . Train staff on safe and proper operation of the equipment. . | Qualifications: | Must have mechanical knowledge and interests in the Turfgrass Industry Prefer an advance technical training and degree in mechanical repairs Prefer a minimum of 3 years' experience as a golf course mechanic Knowledge of reel and rotary maintenance and setup Possess a valid driver's license Must be willing to work overtime hours and tournament weekends Must be able to pass a background check |
